Jeanne M. Girard, age 86, of Summerfield, Florida -formerly of St. Augustine and Wildwood, FL, and originally from Worcester, Massachusetts -passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 2, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones in her son's home. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Deborah J. Pence; her parents, Yvonne Dion Ducharme and Joseph L. Ducharme; and the love of her life, her husband Allen, with whom she shared over five decades of marriage. Jeanne leaves behind her children: her oldest son, Steven Girard (Janice); her daughter Donna (wife of Dale Nichols) and Suzanne (wife of Bobby Holmes); and her youngest son, Michael Girard (married to Joy). She also leaves behind, whom Jeanne called her adoptive daughter, Tracey Hanson. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to thirteen grandchildren: Heather (Cedric), James (Tori), Casey (Jessica), Shannon (Phillip), Joshua (Brittany), Greg, Morgan (Dan), Nicholas (Brittany), Alex (Kaitlyn), Austin, Robert, Grant, and Trey. Her legacy continues through her greatgrandchildren: Dalton, Collin, Bryanna, Aydan, Phillip Jr., Walker, Molly, Scarlett, and Jade, with three more on the way. Jeanne had a special relationship with each of her many nieces and nephews and was known for the unique bond she shared with all of them. She is also leaves behind her four brothers: Dr. Albert Ducharme (Sandy), Roger Ducharme (Sandy), Paul Ducharme (Cecile), and Bobby Ducharme (Teena); her only beloved sister, Irene Audette; her treasured Aunt Noella Dion, who is 106 years old and dearly adored; and her cousin Suzanne Wales (Bill) of Carmel, Michigan, who Jeanne considered more like a sister. Jeanne and Allen moved to Florida 58 years ago, where they raised their five children and built a life full of love, hard work, and laughter. Jeanne worked as a bookkeeper for the law firm of Mclin & Burnsed for over 20 years, earning the respect and friendship of many colleagues. In retirement, Jeanne and Allen made their home in Crescent Beach, Florida, where they found joy hosting family visits, watching their grandchildren play, and relaxing near the ocean. Jeanne had a deep love for the Florida Gators, the Boston Red Sox, and a good card game. She was a devoted fan of Engelbert Humperdinck, and in later years, found joy and laughter watching comedian Bob Marley. Eventually, Jeanne and Allen returned to Summerfield to be closer to their children and grandchildren. She was known for her generous heart - "as big as the sun" - and for her love of a good conversation or a spirited debate. Her home was always full of warmth, and she welcomed everyone with open arms. In her final days, Jeanne was surrounded by those who loved her most. She was at peace and ready to be reunited with those who had gone before her. Most of all, she was prepared to be with her Lord and Savior. A Mass in celebration of Jeanne's life will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 8:30 a.m. at St. Timothy Catholic Church, 1351 Paige Place, Lady Lake, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cornerstone Hospice, The Villages, FL. Jeanne's light lives on through the family she loved relentlessly, and the lives she touched with her kindness, humor, and unwavering love.
