Jeanne Hanson-Olson, 81, of Fergus Falls, died Friday, February 13, 2026 at Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls.
Jeanne Eileen Steib was born May 10, 1944 to Albert and Louise (Zahn) Steib in Fergus Falls, MN. She graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1962.
On October 17, 1964 Jeanne married Richard Hanson in Fergus Falls. They remained married until his death in 2002. On September 10, 2005 Jeanne married Dareld Olson in Fergus Falls. They remained married until his death in 2023.
She worked several jobs throughout the years – Pioneer Home, Woolworths, Kmart, American Federal Bank, More 4 grocery store, and more. She was also a stay-at-home Mom/Homemaker for many years, while the kids were young.
She enjoyed baking, especially Rosettes, Krumkake and Spritz at Christmas time. As she aged, she loved living vicariously through her kids and grandkids.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Richard Hanson; her husband, Dareld Olson, and her parents, Louise and Albert Steib.
Jeanne is survived by her children, Sherri (Tim) Nooyen of Rockford, Scott (Bonnie) Hanson of Moorhead, and Stacy (Dan) Thom of Alexandria; grandchildren, Austin Thom of Fargo, Callie (Jesse) Doschadis of Nolensville, TN, Ryan Thom of Elbow Lake, Molly Nooyen of Madison, WI, and Brayden Hanson of Moorhead, and one great-grandchild on the way, Baby Girl Doschadis.
Memorials preferred to American Cancer Society.
Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 20, 2026 at Olson Funeral and Cremation in Fergus Falls, with visitation one-hour prior to the service.
Clergy: Reverend Daniel Berge
Interment: Western Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Fergus Falls, MN, at a later date.
