Jeanne Frances Kennerly, age 86, a longtime resident of Glenolden, PA, passed away on
October 12, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Philadelphia on February 26, 1939, Jeanne was a graduate of West Catholic High School
and a parishioner of Good Shepherd Parish in Southwest Philadelphia.
After getting married in 1958 to the love of her life and husband of 67 years, Theodore "Ted"
Kennerly, Jeanne started working in the banking industry for First Pennsylvania Bank. Always
wanting a large family, God chose a special path for Jeanne and Ted. They adopted their first of
eight children in 1964, Jeanmarie (John) Long, followed by Theodore (Bonnie) Kennerly Jr,
Kathleen (Ken) Moyer, Craig Kennerly, Guy (Carrie) Kennerly, Dana (Shaun) Donahue, Jamie
(Michael) Yulianetti and Kara (John) Kennerly.
Once the kids had grown, Jeanne began working as a unit clerk at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital in
1989. She loved her time at the hospital and after 25 years of working alongside family and
friends, Jeanne retired for good in 2014.
A devoted Philadelphia sports fan all her life, she loved watching the Eagles, Phillies and 76ers
with Ted. She also enjoyed bowling and playing cards, especially Pinochle. Jeanne belonged to
several clubs including the Collingdale Senior Citizens and Adopted Mothers Clubs.
Above everything else, Jeanne loved spending time with her family which grew from 8 children
to include 25 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. From birthday and holiday parties to
graduations and family milestones, Nanny made sure she was there. Although we will miss her
presence and fun-loving personality, we will carry a lifetime of memories of her in our hearts.
Jeanne is predeceased by her parents John and Frances Shano, her son Craig Kennerly, and
grandsons Sean Long and Jackson Kennerly. Jeanne is also survived by her dear sister Frances
(the late George) Keidel and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass celebrating Jeanne's life will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at St
John Chrysostom Church, 617 S Providence Road, Wallingford, PA 19086. Visitation prior to the
Mass will be from 9am-10:30am in the Church. Interment will immediately follow the Mass at
SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery on Sproul Road in Broomall, PA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Cancer Society, 1818 Market St, Philadelphia,
PA 19103 would be appreciated.
