Jeanne Marie Lyons

Jeanne was born on October 28, 1922 and grew up in Pittsburgh, on Benton Avenue on Pittsburgh's North Side. Jeanne passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 26, 2024, two days away from her 102nd birthday. She is the eldest of four children to the late Daniel Fowle and Marie (Rodgers) Bagwell. In 1950, Jeanne married the late Leor Francis Lyons and went on to raise seven children. Jeanne is survived by her daughter, Mary Jeanne Miller, her sons, Joseph P. (Mary Lynn, "Lynnie"), Leor F. "Bud" (Donna), Michael P., Thomas R. (Jennifer) and William G. (Jana), her grandsons, James C. and Justin "Denny" P. Bordone, Joseph L. (Carrie) Lyons, Ryan J. Miller, Cullen T. and Rowan J. Lyons, her great grandchildren, Abbey R. Bordone, Greta G. Lyons, Leo M., Maura K., Reed A., and Annie H. Farmerie, and Darrin and Kelvin Miller; also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews. Jeanne is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her daughter, Judith A. (the late James T.) Bordone, her grandson, Sean P. Lyons, and siblings, Grace B. Zutell, Daniel F. and Robert J. "Jim" Bagwell. Over Jeanne's 101+ years, she has made countless lifelong friends. She had a remarkable sense of humor and never an unkind word to say about anyone. She was a magnet for great friendships. She was very active in her children's Cub and Girl Scout groups, an avid reader, and was always a loyal Pittsburgh Pirate fan. Jeanne will be remembered for her strong Catholic faith, caring heart, and most of all, her love for her family. Her family meant the world to her, and in return Jeanne meant the world to her family.
