NORTH ATTLEBORO — Sister Jeanne Beatrice Robin, a resident of Madonna Manor, North Attleboro, died on September 20, 2007 at the age of 90. Sister was the daughter of the late Napolean and Josephine (Bissonnette) Robin. Born in Waterloo, Quebec in 1917, she came to Pawtucket, RI as a child. She graduated from St. John the Baptist Academy, Pawtucket. She entered the Holy Union Sisters in Fall River, MA in 1934 and pronounced her vows on March 25, 1936. She attended Sacred Heart School of Education in Fall River and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Eduation from Catholic Teacher’s College in Providence, RI.

Sister Jeanne Beatrice taught in Catholic schools in Massachusetts and Rhode Island for nearly 50 years. Her first teaching assignment was at Sacred Heart School in North Attleboro where she taught primary grades from 1936 to 1952. She was the first principal at St. Lawrence School, Centredale, RI where she taught and also directed the religious program. In the Boston Archdiocese, Sr. taught at Rose Hawthorne School and Country Day School of the Holy Union, Groton, MA. She was a teacher and then principal at Assumption School in Chelsea. Her last teaching assignment was at St. Cecilia’s School, Pawtucket, RI.

Sister Jeanne Beatrice retired from teaching in 1984. In 1985 she joined the Holy Union retirement community at St. Mary’s Convent in North Attleboro where she was a member of the community coordinating team and was also in charge of food services.

Her survivors include her Holy Union Sisters; her sister, Claire Robin Bouvier; her brother, Paul Robin; her sister-in-law Dolores Robin and several nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Her brothers Roger, Jean, Roland, Ernest, Rosaire, Gerard and sister Beatrice preceded her in death.

Visitation will be Friday Sept. 21, 2007 in the SPERRRY & MCHOUL FUNERAL HOME, 15 Grove St.; North Attleboro; MA from 2-4 pm followed by a Vigil prayer at 4pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 5pm on Friday at Sacred Heart Church, Church St.; North Attleboro.

Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, North Attleboro on Saturday at 9 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Holy Union Sister’s Development Fund; P.O. Box 410; Milton; MA 02186

Dear Sisters,
I am very sorry to hear of Sister's death.She was very kind to me when I was taking care of some of your sisters at St. Mary Convent. I will remember all of you in my prayers.

Holy Union Sister formerly of St. Mary's Convent, N.A.
I was so very sorry to hear about Sr. Jeanne Beatrice, she always had a smile and I remember meeting her in the super market on occassion.

I have very fond memories of all the sisters who were in N. A. and miss you all.

May god continue to bless you as you have blessed all who know you.

My sympathy to the Sisters of the Holy Union and to the family of Sr. Jeanne Beatrice. We enjoyed some good times in Groton and in North Attleboro. You are now justly blessed with the reward of eternal life after many years in service to Him! Thanks for the memories!
