Jeanne Terry Roelfsema passed away October 26, 2025, at Green House Living with family by her side at the age of 91.
Born Norma Jean Terry on August 20, 1934 to Norval and Velma (Rosenberg) Terry
In Hastings Nebraska.
Her dad went to work for J. C. Penney's in Denver CO and was later transferred to Laramie where she enjoyed playing with her sister and twin aunts. She was known to most people's as "Little Terry"
Jeanne's first job, at 13, was working at the Laramie Theater. Before that she babysat for 15 cents an hour. Jeanne graduated from Laramie High School, Laramie WY in 1952.
After graduation Jeanne worked at Laramie Printing. She met Gene Roelfsema there when he walked in one day. After 17 proposals she finally decide to marry him in 1954. They were married for 69 years at the time of his passing. They made homes in Cheyenne, Worland, Casper, Parker Draw (Big Horn) and Sheridan.
Gene and Jeanne had three children. Terry (Roberta) Roelfsema, Kirk (Rebecca) Roelfsema and Julie (Roy) Cramer. They have 11 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
Jeanne took great pride in being a mom and grandma. She was a domestic wonder. Jeanne taught many kids and grandkids to sew, cook, knit. Canning, quilting and many other important life skills.
When the kids were older, she went back to school and graduated with her Associates of arts degree in Music at Casper College in 1969.
While living in Casper, Jeanne taught private piano lessons. She was the adult choir director at First Christian Church (DOC) as well as the Joyful Noise youth choir. Jeanne was also very involved with the church and the Christian Women's Fellowship (CFW) groups.
In 1990 Jeanne and Gene moved to Big Horn Wy. Jeanne was a member of the Big Horn Women's Club. They were members of the First Christian Church (DOC) in Sheridan. She continued in CWF and directed the Adult choir for many years.
Jeanne was a very gifted artist. She was a silversmith who made beautiful custom jewelry which she sold at craft shows. She was known for her hand painted t-shirts. Jeanne also painted with watercolors. But her favorite hobby was kissing and snuggling all the babies.
Jeanne loved camping in the mountains! She loved catching fish, Gene loved eating them. As much as Jeanne loved camping, Gene did not. But he loved her and together created many camping memories including Jeanne with her guitar, around the campfire for a sing-a-Ling.
In 2007 Jeanne and Gene moved into Sheridan. In 2022 due to health issues the pair moved to Cascade's at Sugarland Ridge where they were very content and well cared for by all.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, sister and loving husband.

A memorial will be held Monday, November 3, 2025, at 11 am at First Christian Church, 102 Connor St.
