Jeff Mulkey

Mr. Jeffery Mulkey, known to all as Jeff, passed away on April 23, 2025, at the age of 55. Born on January 30, 1970, in Jasper, Georgia, Jeff was the son of the late Bob Mulkey and Hazel Williams Mulkey.
Jeff spent the last 35 years alongside his loving wife, sharing a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Their son was his pride and joy, and in Jeff's eyes, he could do no wrong. His grandchildren were his whole world, and he cherished every moment spent with them. A hardworking man with skilled hands, Jeff loved his job in construction and grading with Joe McCrary, rebuilt motors, and fixed cars-whether a Chevy or a Toyota, but never a Ford. He was always wearing a hat, ready to lend a hand, and quick with an answer-whether it was right or just something he creatively made up. Jeff had a deep love for the outdoors, spending time kayaking, hiking, and chasing the thrill of speed on anything with wheels. In his younger days, he rode dirt bikes, but if the need arose, he wouldn't hesitate to hop on the lawnmower and ride down Old Highway 5 just to visit his best friend, David. Jeff had a heart full of kindness, always ready to help anyone in need. His sweet, giving nature left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He loved to joke and prank his sister growing up, bringing laughter wherever he went. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those lucky enough to have known him. His memory will live on in the stories, the laughter, and the love he shared.
He is preceded in death by his parents, son, Johnathan Jeans and father-in-law, David Garrett.
Jeff's absence will be deeply felt by his surviving family, wife, Tena Mulkey, son, Brandon (Brittany) Mulkey, grandchildren, Hazeleigh Mulkey, Evie Dingman, Chayten Collett, Ellah Durrent, brother, Terry (Marty) Godfrey, sister, Trena Godfrey, mother-in-law, Debra Garrett, brothers-in-law, Shane (Shannon) Garrett and Timmy (Dallas) Garrett. Several nieces and nephews also survive to cherish Jeff's memory.
The family will receive friends at Cagle Funeral Home on Thursday, May 1, 2025, from noon until nine at night and Friday, May 2, 2025, from ten in the morning until the service hour.
Jeff's funeral service will be conducted in the Robert A. Cagle Memorial Chapel on Friday, May 2, 2025, at two in the afternoon with Pastor Kenny Martin officiating.
