With profound sorrow and love, we bid farewell to a remarkable husband and father, Jeffrey Scott Packer, known to us as Jeff, who journeyed to his heavenly home on May 27, 2024. Born on April 26, 1952, in Brigham City, Utah, to William and Beverly Packer. Jeff was a beacon of light, an embodiment of love and service. In his last 20 years he valiantly lived through physical pain and hardship without loosing or questioning his faith. This is the legacy he has left. His family was his most valued treasure. He lived for his angelic wife, Elaine Poulsen Packer and his 4 children and 19 grandchildren.
Jeff was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in various capacities, including as a missionary in Quebec, Canada, a Bishop, a 1st Counselor in the Box Elder Stake Presidency, and served a Family Mission at the Intermountain Indian Ward. Jeff's professional journey saw him serve as a respected Broker of All Pro Real Estate. His thoughtful attention to detail and empathetic nature showed as he worked tirelessly in the community. He loved working with family as he served as President of Anvil Construction/Anvil Cabinet and Mill. His dedication to service extended beyond his profession, as he involved himself in community efforts. His service minded approach was marked by endless hours of leadership in Utah State Parks as Board Chairman, Governors Rural Partnership Board Chairman, Bridgerland ATC Vice Chairman, Box Elder County Education Center where he helped bring the USU Extension to Brigham City, Box Elder County Boys and Girls Club Founders Board, Judicial Nominating Commission, Golden Spike Reenactment Cast Member and Rotary Club Member.
Jeff's life was not only defined by his service but also by his love for life. He loved spending time with family as an outdoorsman, his hobbies ranging from fishing at Marsh Lake and hunting at Buck Hollow to camping, basketball, and tennis. He earned his Eagle Scout Award in his youth. Jeff's legacy is survived by his beloved spouse, Elaine Packer, and their children Chantele (Robert) Gray, Adam (Katherine) Packer, Natalie (Troy) Astle and John (Haili) Packer; 19 grandchildren; siblings, Gloria (Randy) Deem, Janet (Ron) Bingham, Kevin (Ann) Packer, Ruthe (Carl) Beckstrom Wildrick and Michele (Rod) Law. He is preceded in death by his parents, William Lamoine Packer and Beverly Ruth Carlson; grandson, Davis Scott Packer and brother-in-law, Kelly Beckstrom.
A viewing will be held on Friday, May 31 from 6-8 pm at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 1 at the Box Elder Stake Center, 420 South 800 West, at 1:00 pm. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 12-12:45 pm at the Stake Center.
We invite you to celebrate Jeff's extraordinary life by leaving your memories and sharing photos on his memorial page, remembering a man who lived his life with purpose, love, and humility. Let us honor and cherish the memory of Jeff Packer, a loving father, a devoted husband, an unwavering servant of the Church, and a pillar of our community.
