Mr. Jefferson “Jeff” Patrick Mitchell, 37, of Hermitage, TN formerly of Cleveland, TN passed away early Saturday morning November 30, 2024.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 3:00 P.M. Friday, December 6, 2024, at St. Therese Catholic Church in Cleveland with Father Mike Creson and Deacon Steve Ratterman officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family urges a donation to be made to the Predators Foundation at https://t.co/I4LnPsQTFK. When filling out the form, please select Preds Foundation under where you would like your donation directed to. Please also fill in Jefferson Mitchell under the “In Memory of In Honor of.” The Predators Foundation will designate a portion of the funds received in Jefferson’s name to go towards “Wags and Walks” a dedicated community of dog lovers working to reduce euthanasia in local shelters and increase awareness of rescue dogs being wonderful pets.
Jeff was born February 7, 1987, in Chadron, Nebraska to Thomas A. Mitchell and Kay A. Jurgens Mitchell. Jeff graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in New York in 2008. Jefferson was a tenured member of the Westin leadership team, serving as the Executive Sous Chef, and was honored as last year’s Leader of the Year. His ever-present smile, quick wit, and genuine kindness were hallmarks of his character, touching everyone who had the pleasure of working alongside him. This loss is both sudden and deeply felt, and we know many will be reflecting on the wonderful moments they shared with Jefferson.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas A. Mitchell; grandparents Jerry and Frances Jurgens, Esther, and William Mitchell.Survivors include his mother, Kay A. Mitchell, Harrison, TN; one brother, Tom Mitchell and his partner Carolanne Painter; one sister, Jessicca Dwelley and her husband Tom; nieces, Skylar Mitchell, Kinslee Painter, and Rylee Morton; one nephew, Tyler Gay; aunts and uncles, Maryanne and Gary Hoemann, Knoxville, TN, Tony Dale, North Platte, NE. Jefferson also shared his life with a loving companion Kathleen Sherman.
