Jeffery Lynton Allegood

ST CLOUD, FL – Jeffery Lynton Allegood, 78, of St. Cloud, FL, and formerly of Moultrie, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family. 

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 26, 2024, in Westview Cemetery with Reverend S.E. Newberry officiating. Interment will follow the service. 

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM on Friday, October 25, 2024, at Cobb Funeral Chapel. 

Born May 17, 1946, in Moultrie, Georgia, he was the son of the late Herman Jefferson Allegood and Agnes May Allegood. Mr. Jeff was raised in Colquitt County and graduated as a member of the Class of 1964. He enlisted in the US Army and served his country honorably. After completing his tour of duty, he came back to Moultrie where he worked as a Police Officer for the Moultrie Police Department. In 1967, he met the love of his life, Sue Glass. They were married in 1969 before moving to Florida in 1972. He was a skilled craftsman who worked as a Commercial Plumber for 43 years before retiring. He worked on many projects that helped make a better life for his community. Mr. Jeff was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He accomplished many things in life but always considered his family to be his greatest treasure and loved them beyond measure and was of the Baptist faith. He was deeply loved by his family who will miss him until they see him again in Heaven. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sue Allegood Walker. 

Survivors include his beloved wife of 55 years, Sue Glass Allegood; his sons, Jaime Allegood and Brian Allegood and wife Justina; brother, Ronnie Allegood; sisters, Linda Lasseter and husband Charles, and Carol McRae; a host of nieces and nephews; and many extended family members and dear friends.
