I knew Jeff through my work as an attorney in Lorain County. Although I did not know him well on a personal level, I knew that he had been bravely battling with his illness for some time, even as he continued to work. My sincere condolences to his family and all who loved him.

I had known and worked with Jeff as a fellow attorney in Cuyahoga and Lorain Counties for many years. Jeff was a kind man, a zealous advocate for his clients, and a good husband and father. He will be missed. My condolences to his family.

Jeff Brown was an extraordinary person. As a young attorney, he took a chance on me-offering to share a large portion of his office space in a prime location across from the courthouse. That single act moved my practice out of my home basement and into a space I could only have hoped for at the time. It changed everything.
From time to time, we´d meet for working lunches, and he became a mentor to me. Jeff was genuinely kind and generous with his time and encouragement. He spoke with such pride about his wife, his daughter, and his family. His warmth always struck me-especially when I learned he had once been a Marine sniper. That contrast only deepened my respect for him.
As a younger or less experienced attorney, it´s easy to feel intimidated, out of place, or even bullied in this profession. Jeff never made me feel that way. He always encouraged me, always rooted for me, and made sure I knew I belonged. I was rooting just as hard for him during his illness and his fight.
Jeff was what I would call a "law dad"-a true mentor and steady presence. Especially, after I had lost my mom, dad, and sister, just about a year earlier. The office will never be the same without him. A plaque will remain in his honor, and I will forever cherish the items he gave me, especially the desk I purchased from him that still receives constant compliments.
This is a devastating loss for me, but even more so for his family and for the entire legal community. Jeff Brown will be deeply missed.
Rest in peace.
