Jeffery Alexander Cobb, 39, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday July 5, 2023. Born and raised in Canton, Ohio, Jeffery was the eldest son of Rochelle Cobb and Richard Parker. Jeff had many names of endearment. Whether you knew him as Jeff, Jonesy, Weeble Wobble, or Youngin, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He loved to dance, sing, cook, fish, was a handyman, and was a member of the Dragon Masters and Boogie Down Motorcycle Club. Within his lifetime, Jeff was also a Phlebotomist and Lifeguard. In fact, at 16, he and another Lifeguard saved a young boy's life at the C.T. Branin Natatorium. A graduate of Canton McKinley Senior High School (Class of 2001), he served in the United States Army.
Recently, Jeff became an official Journeyman, through the kindness of Ironworkers Local 550. He was a member of Mt. Calvary Second Missionary Baptist Church, as well as Saint Paul's Community Christian Church in East Canton, Ohio, where he was the church drummer. He was truly excited to marry the love of his life, Ashley, on August 12, 2023, and celebrate with family and friends. Jeff lit up every room he walked into and treated everyone like a friend. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Jeff will forever be remembered as the life of the party, with his infectious smile.
Jeff is preceded in death by grandparents, Rebecca A. Kale, James L. Cobb Sr., and Lillian Parker; and uncles, Richard V. Joyce, James L. Cobb Jr., and Dennis Parker.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Rochelle Cobb; father, Richard Parker; the love of his life, fiancée, Ashley McCreary; in-laws, James and Wendy Tolley; son, Ja'Meir Cobb; daughters, Kerrington Cobb and Delaney Wright; siblings, Zachary Cobb (Katelyn H.), Markus Morgan, and Markiesha Morgan; great-aunt, Margaret Young of Chicago, Illinois; aunt, Denise Hunt; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Calling hours will be from 12PM to 2PM on Friday July 14, 2023, service immediately following at 2PM, at Mt. Calvary Second Missionary Baptist Church, 1000 Third St NE, Canton, Ohio 44704, with Reverend Lance J. Bell, interim pastor, and Pastor Ed Dickerhoof officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made for his daughter's educational fund at https://www.gofundme.com/f/the-family-of-jeff-cobb.
The family of Jeffery A. Cobb would like to thank Local 550, Safety Resources Company of Ohio, Mt. Calvary Second Missionary Baptist Church and Saint Paul's Community Christian Church, for their prayers, acts of kindness, and support during this time of sorrow.
