Jeffery Clark Gilbert

Jeffrey Clark Gilbert passed away peacefully at home on February 23, 2026, with his wife and daughter by his side, after a long battle with cancer and other illnesses. He was born on July 23, 1954, in Houston, Texas, to Clark and Sunny Gilbert.

Jeff spent his childhood in the Langwood neighborhood of Houston, Texas, where he formed friendships that lasted a lifetime. He built a long and respected career in the oil industry, working with companies including Mobil, Ipsco, EH Wachs, Brand, ISS, and his own company, Pipeline Services. His work took him around the world and to every U.S. state except Alaska before he retired in 2019. Throughout his career, Jeff earned the respect of colleagues globally, many of whom became lifelong friends.

Outside of work, Jeff embraced life fully. Some of his closest friendships grew from years of traveling the country on Harleys, attending bike rallies, and exploring some of the nation's most beautiful places. He valued camaraderie and simple pleasures - sharing a beer at the Alamo, swapping stories and jokes at the "Liars Table," or heading out on an impromptu ride to an unknown destination. Those friendships brought him joy, laughter, and comfort through life's challenges.

Jeff was also deeply committed to supporting others. He frequently rallied friends from work, the Alamo, and his riding community to contribute to causes close to his heart, including Wounded Warriors, Salute to the Heroes Fishing Tournaments, Combat Marine Outdoors, and many others.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clark and Sunny Gilbert; his sister, Kathy Roeder; and his stepdaughter, Michelle Campbell.

Jeff is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl Gilbert; his brother, Miles Gilbert; his children, Christopher Gilbert (Elizabeth) and Jennifer Gilbert; his grandsons, Kyle, Michael, Benjamin, and Jack; his great-granddaughter, Parker; and countless cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The family extends their sincere gratitude to the doctors and nurses who provided compassionate care throughout his illness.

Though he is gone, he will never be forgotten. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will be cherished always.
