Jeffery W. Small

Dover-Foxcroft – Jeffery W. Small, 66, passed away December 26, 2025, at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center, Bangor. He was born August 11, 1959, in Dover-Foxcroft, the son of Donald M. Sr and Judith E. (Harris) Small.

Family always came first for Jeff. His devotion to his wife, Lisa, was evident in the countless small acts of love that defined their life together. Their home was a place of warmth and welcome, shared over the years with many friends, neighbors, and young people who needed support, direction, or simply a safe place to land. Jeff never sought recognition for his kindness and generosity; he helped because he genuinely cared.

A devoted father, Jeff was protective, attentive, and always there. He taught by example, modeling loyalty, accountability, respect, and compassion in everyday life. Known as a "bonus dad" to many, he offered the same wisdom, humor, and encouragement to others that he gave to his own family.

Jeff was a proud Mason and a member of Mosaic Lodge No. 52. He greatly valued the brotherhood and camaraderie of the Lodge and took quiet pride in living those values through service.

Born and raised in Dover-Foxcroft, Jeff was deeply proud to raise his own family here. He volunteered for many years with youth hockey, where it was especially important to him that all kids, regardless of their circumstances, had the opportunity to play.

A bit of a prankster, Jeff used humor to connect with others, putting people at ease and strengthening the sense of belonging he valued so deeply in his family, his Lodge, and his community. He lived by simple principles: do the right thing, care for others, and show up when it matters.

Jeff is survived by his loving wife, Lisa (Chase) Small; daughters, Alexandria Small and her life partner, Emerson Clarke, and Kassandra Doore and her husband, Robert; sons, Chase Small, and Edward Thorpe and his wife, Katie; granddaughter, Piper Elizabeth Kelley; five sisters, JoAnn Fisher, Theresa Sneed and her husband, Bill, Sue Ellen Jewell and her husband, Steve, Sharon Deaguilar and her husband, Chris, and Peggy Kimball. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Donald Small Jr.; sister, Sandra Small; niece Gretchen Fisher, and brothers-in-law, Carl Fisher, and Ray Cyr.

Memorial visitations will be held 5-7PM Friday, January 2, 2025, concluding with a Masonic Service at 7PM, at the Lary Funeral Home, 62 Summer Street, Dover-Foxcroft.
