Sergeant Jeffery L. Walker Sr. was born May 11, 1958, in Albuquerque New Mexico to Naomi Irene Ludd and Burton Walker.

Jeffery graduated from Highland High School in 1976 in Albuquerque New Mexico where he played football, wrestled and boxed. He was in the Naval Junior Reserve Officer training corps before joining the army.

Jeffery married Detricia Webb in September 1976, and he became a father for the first time in 1977 when son Jeffery Jr. was born.

After entering the Army, he completed basic training and advanced training at Fort Dix in New Jersey.

Specializing in transportation, his assignments included supply and support with the 4th Battalion, at Fort Carson Colorado, and the 2nd Armed Calvary Regiment in Nurenburg Germany. Finally ending his active-duty career with a company 2nd Battalion 101st Airborne division at Fort Campbell Kentucky not before earning rank of Sargent his awards and decorations include a number of achievement medals good conduct medals and NCO development courses.

While at Fort Carson from 1979 to 1980, Sargent Walker was the Colorado state AAU Team Champion and Gloden Glove Team champion. He was one of the top ranked boxers in the country and was on his way to compete in the 1980 Olympics. Due to the Iran hostage situation, the Americans could not participate in the Olympics that year therefore we will never know what the American boxing team would have contributed to the 1980 Olympics.

While at his last duty station in Fort Campbell Kentucky in 1983 Sergeant Walker met Regina Norman who he later married in July 1984, adding daughters Jasmin and Adriane Walker to the family.

After leaving the military Sargent Walker turned in his uniform for the minister's robe. Dedicating his life to spreading the gospel. Minister Walker completed his bachelor's degree in in Theology, at the American Baptist College. He then along with fellow minister Alfred Shelton, established "The Table of Brotherhood Ministries" In Tennessee to help spread the word of God. The churches members also assisted families in need of food, rent and utilities. They also provided clothing and shelter when needed.

He received a master's degree in psychology and issued a PhD candidacy in Psychology. Mr. Walker holds a host of certifications with various organizations in psychology and a grief counseling.

Jeffery continued to serve his community acting as youth counselor, basketball coach, boxing coach, assisting grieving families, recovering addicts, marching for civil rights and even running for the board of education garnering hundreds of thousands of votes. Through it all he never stopped spreading the gospel.

He is Survived by his aunt Louvenia Rue of California; sister, Mary Linton, brother, Ralph Waddles, brother, Craig Walker, sister, Michelle Padrell and brother, Jonnie Padrell; adopted son, Arris L. Walker and daughters, Jasmin and Adriane Walker along with a host of nieces, nephews and 13 grandchildren.

He will forever be loved and missed by all who knew him.
