Jeffory Wayne

Jeffory Wayne, a longtime resident of Summit Lake, died on January 23, 2026 at Rainbow Hospice Care in Johnson Creek. He was 73 years old. He was born on December 21, 1952 in West Bend, a son of Arthur and Loretta (Lutz) Wayne. He married Wendy Knapek on October 4, 1980 at the United Church of Christ Congregational in Elcho.

He was a graduate of Elcho High School and received his Associates Degree from the Lake Superior College.

Jeff was a faithful supporter of the Packers and Brewers. His passion was the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed woodworking and restoring antique snowmobiles. Jeff was a tool and die maker and machinist for most of his career. He recently moved to Cambridge to be closer to his daughter and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Wendy; a daughter, Laura (Matt) Schreiber of Lake Mills; two grandchildren, Maggie and Caleb Schreiber; two sisters, Carolyn Wayne of Neenah and Marilyn (John) Pape of Appleton; two brothers, John (Donna) Wayne of Lodi and Kenneth (Sara) Wayne of Suring; and two sisters-in-law, Lynna Lawrence of Waunakee and JoAnn (David) Edwards of Gwinn, MI. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and extended family including the Walrath family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers-in-law, David Lawrence and Fred Ballou.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 14, at 11:30 a.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home with Rev. Wes Jedras officiating. Burial will take place at Lakeside Cemetery, Summit Lake in the Spring.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 14, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family and will go to the Elcho Historical Society, reflecting Jeff's love for the community.
