Jeffrey Michael Ashby

Commander Jeff Ashby, 65, of Mobile, Alabama, passed away Friday, July 14, 2023. He was born in Keesler AFB, Biloxi, Mississippi, on November 23, 1957, to Jim and Abby Ashby. Jeff was married to Kaye Ashby for five years. Jeff had a career as a Surface Warfare Officer sailing the open waters for the United States Navy. He retired as a Master Mariner with Edison Chouest Offshore. He studied Naval Sciences at The Citadel. He graduated in 1979. Jeff had a passion for family, God, shooting sports, and his bulldog, Shiloh.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Kaye Ashby; son, Jeff Ashby, Jr.; brother, Matthew (Doanie) Ashby; daughter-in-law, Dana Whitton; son-in-law, Ken Whitton; niece, Nicki Ashby; grandsons, Bryan (Emily) Whitton, Deven (Carson) Whitton, Nathan (Trinity) Whitton, and Ayden Whitton; granddaughter, Brenda Whitton; great granddaughters, Ellie, Avery, Georgia, and Anna-Kaye; great grandson, Roper; soon to be great grandson, Rowan Michael; and bulldog, Shiloh Ashby.
Funeral Service will be Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at 11:00AM, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North. Visitation will be one hour prior at 10:00AM. Pastor Mark Dees will be officiating. Interment will be at Farm Hill Fellowship Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Ashby, Jr., Matthew Ashby, Ken Whitton, Deven Whitton, Ayden Whitton, and Nathan Whitton.
