Jeffrey D. Banta, 68 of Syracuse, NY, passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. He was born on September 21, 1956 in Green Bay, WI to the late Edward “Jim” Banta.
After high school, he started a business repairing radios for local businesses. He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1976-1986. He moved his family to Central New York for a career with General Electric.
Later on, he had a career with CxTec testing refurbished internet equipment. Jeff graduated from Bryant & Stratton with an Associates Degree in Information Technology.
Jeff was a lifelong Green Bay Packer fan, a train aficionado. He had a hobby of both watching train yards and construction toy models.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Elizabeth; children, Lory, Christopher (Jessica) and Jason; his mother, Lorraine; sisters, Rebecca, Bridget, Jenifer and several nieces and nephews.
Calling will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals on Friday, June 20, 2025 from 4-7pm. Military Honors will be observed at 6pm.
There will be a Memorial Service at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Clear Path For Veterans.
