Jeffrey S. Barus, 70, of Gardner, died peacefully Wednesday, January 28, 2026, in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, after a period of declining health.
Born in Gardner on December 8, 1955, he was the son of Lois (Erickson) Collette and the late Rudolf J. Barus. Jeffrey was an oil technician, employed by Roy Brothers of Ashburnham for many years, until his retirement.
Jeffrey was a parishioner of Annunciation Parish of Gardner and a longtime member of the Polish American Citizens Club of Gardner. He enjoyed working on puzzles, watching sports-especially football-and treasured the lunches he shared with friends at many local restaurants. Above all, Jeffrey deeply loved his family and cherished every moment spent with them, especially his mother, who held a very special place in his heart.
Besides his mother, Jeffrey is survived by his beloved wife, Wendy M. (Guyer) Barus of Gardner; a sister-in-law, Ann Barus of Gardner; a niece, Sara Barus and her fiancé, Robert Howlett, of Gardner; great-nieces, Gianna and Desiree Howlett; and cousins, John and Janet Walsh of Pembroke.
Besides his father, Jeffrey was predeceased by his brother, Michael A. Barus, his niece, Erin Barus; and stepfather, Joseph N. Collette, with whom he had a special relationship with.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 4, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Wildwood Cemetery, West Street, Gardner, MA.
