Jeffrey Mark Berliner was born in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania on February 4, 1961, the son of Daniel Berliner and Arlene Stern Berliner. He passed away peacefully on August 30, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was a devoted husband, father, uncle, and grandfather.
Jeffrey is survived by his wife, Kathleen, with whom he shared 35 years of marriage, and their children, Josh (Amber)Berliner and Meghan (Devin) Bosch. Jeffrey took immense pride in his role as a grandfather to his cherished granddaughter, Avery Bosch, which he considered one of his proudest accomplishments.
In addition, he leaves behind his brother, Bruce, many loving nieces and nephews, and caring friends. Jeffrey was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Arlene Berliner.
Jeffrey was an enthusiastic world traveler. He reveled in the natural beauty of such places as Yellowstone, Glacier Bay and Garden of the Gods, as well as immersing himself in the culture and history of foreign countries like Japan, the Netherlands, Germany and Australia. Many of his family’s fondest memories with Jeff were made on trips to Orlando, Cape Cod, and London, just to name a few.
A graduate of Purdue University, Jeff enjoyed an illustrious career as a Crash Safety Engineer, working to make automobiles safer. He was a member of a global team that developed sophisticated anthropomorphic test devices.
He cared deeply about the welfare of others, a quality that shone in his work as well as his personal interactions with family, friends, and members of the global community. He was known for his ability to befriend anyone and everyone he encountered.
Jeffrey was a passionate family man and friend who valued togetherness. His family and friends miss his companionship, humor, and kindness.
Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025 from 10AM to 11AM, followed by an 11AM Celebration of Life Service at First United Methodist Church, 45201 N. Territorial, Plymouth, MI.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Angela Hospice of Livonia, MI.
