Jeffrey Tyrone Bloom, affectionately known to many as "Cowboy," passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at the age of 70. Born on September 9, 1954, in Miami, Florida, Jeffrey was the beloved son of the late Henry Canady and the late Mildred (Ferguson) Bloom.
A proud resident of Perry, Georgia, Jeffrey lived a life rooted in hard work, love for the land, and dedication to his community. He retired from both the City of Perry and the Houston County Board of Education, where his work ethic and generous spirit left a lasting impact.
Jeffrey earned his nickname "Cowboy" through a life that celebrated his country roots. He found joy and purpose in tending to horses and cattle and was most at peace working the land he loved. With his easy smile and welcoming nature, he never met a stranger and was known far and wide for his warmth, kindness, and storytelling charm.
Jeffrey's presence in the lives of those who knew him was a gift-he was a friend, a mentor, and a steady hand in both good times and hard ones. His legacy is one of authenticity, quiet strength, and deep connection to the land and people around him.
