Jeffrey A. Burgman died at his home in Tucson, Arizona on Thursday evening, June 13, 2024. He was 70 years old. Jeff was born in Queens, New York and moved to Wantagh, Long Island as a young child. He graduated from General Douglas MacArthur High School in 1971 and with honors from the University of Miami in 1975, where he majored in Elementary and Special Education with a minor in Psychology. He taught Special Education in Dade County Florida then worked for Eastern Airlines as a Field Representative and Marketing Consultant in Kansas City, Missouri. In 1987, he began his career in Tucson as a Realtor where he served his clients with integrity and passion for 37 years.
Jeff was blessed with lifelong friends: friends he went to elementary school with, friends from Long Island, New York, Miami, Kansas City, and Tucson. He was a friend to many, and many were friends to him. He walked many of his friends through challenging times, and his friends and family traveled near and far to be with him as he faced end stage heart failure. Jeff loved to travel, swim, read, and garden. His love for animals, especially dogs, was well known. He owned a wide variety including a Borzoi, Chihuahuas, Jack Russell terriers, and rescue dogs.
Jeff, or "Uncle Jeff" as he was known to his nieces and nephews: Carolyn Burgman, Michael Burgman and his wife, Karen, Lisa Burgman Stevenson and her husband, Matthew, Shane Burgman and his wife, Rebecca, and Craig Burgman. Uncle Jeff also dearly loved his five grandnieces and four grandnephews: Madelyn Burgman, Kaden Stevenson, Kirra Stevenson, Sophia Burgman, Shea Stevenson, Lillian Burgman, Ethan Burgman, Elliot Burgman, and Everett Burgman.
Jeff is survived by his brother, Jay Burgman and his wife, Rose, and was predeceased by his brother, Gregory Burgman. Jeff often spoke of his wonderful friendships and the special times he spent with family and friends at North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Jeff loved many and many loved him. He will be missed.
