Jeffrey Scott "Scotty" Buttery, 63 of Liberty passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025. He was born on October 29, 1961 in Oxford, Ohio to Donald Buttery and Winnie Buttery.

Scotty was a faithful member of the Cornerstone Community Church in Liberty. At the church he served as an Elder for many years.

Scotty was a man with a big heart with a love of playing softball and a passion for helping others. Whether he was on the ball field, lending a hand to a friend or spending time with his precious grandchildren, he lived his life with joy and purpose. He cherished every moment spent with his family. Some of his happiest days were spent traveling to the ocean and one of his favorite places to visit was Myrtle Beach.

Scotty will be remembered by his kindness, his laughter and the lives he touched along the way.

He is survived by his daughters, Crystal (Jeff Davis) Buttery and Kaitlin Proffitt; his grandchildren, Mackenzie, Allia, Brody, Dillon and Molliana; his brothers, Randy Buttery and Dani Buttery; and special friends, Linda Crawford, Cindy Morgan and Robert Smith; and many other friends, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his fiancé, Patty Carey and his sister, Kandy Hutchins.

A memorial service will be held on November 15, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Cornerstone Community Church, 103 E. Union St., Liberty, Indiana 47353.
