Jeffrey James Chester, 62, of Schaumburg. Beloved husband of Barbara Marie
Chester, nee Malinowski. Loving father of Philip Chester and Andrew Chester.
Cherished son of the late Karen and Ronald Chester and son-in-law of Bernice
Janowski. Dear brother of Rick (Sue) Chester and brother-in-law of John
(Michelle) Malinowski. Dear uncle of Jessica, Ron and Mishayla. Nephew of
Bruce Newberg.
Jeff was born March 15, 1961, in Evanston, Illinois and passed away at home on September 18, 2023.
Jeff was a channel of levity and would give anything for his family and friends. He was a Freemason, a dedicated parishioner at St. Hubert Church, an avid golfer, bowler, woodworker, trombonist, motorcyclist, genealogist, pop culture aficionado, and appreciator of the arts. He achieved some local fame as a radio DJ for a Chicago-based polka radio station and worked at his family's company, World Metal Finishing. He later became one of the first licensed residential real estate appraisers in Illinois. He took great pride in his work and in providing a safe, happy, fulfilling life for his family. Jeff explored numerous hobbies and loved spreading his joy to others. He inspired both his sons to pursue careers in music and instilled countless passions in them. He made a positive impact on the lives of many young people as Cubmaster of Scout Pack 399, merit badge counselor, assistant baseball coach, and strove to be one of the most generous and accommodating trick-or-treating stops in the neighborhood. He currently resides in our hearts and in heaven with his mom and dad.
In State at 10 AM Saturday until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 AM at St.
Hubert Church, 975 Grand Canyon Street, Hoffman Estates. In lieu of flowers
