Jeffrey R. Clark
June 20, 1953 – May 30, 2025
Jeffrey R. Clark, 71, of Hackettstown, NJ passed away peacefully on May 30, 2025 at Newark Beth Israel Hospital, Newark NJ.
Jeff was born on June 20, 1953 in Mt Holly, NJ to the late Richard and Eloise (Albin) Clark.
Jeff grew up in Monroeville, PA and moved to Mountain Lakes, NJ. He graduated from Mountain Lakes High School. Jeff and his family vacationed every year at his grandparents farm in New Hampshire. Many fond stories are told of fishing there with his father at the Contoocook River. He was a member of the swim team in both high school and college. He went on to get a Bachelor's of Science degree in Civil Engineering from NJIT. He was a civil engineer, working primarily in construction.
Jeff eventually settled in Hackettstown, NJ and was a major support for his mother until her death in 2009. Jeff was an avid reader, loved being outdoors and spending time with his many hobbies and pastimes. Jeff golfed, hiked, fished, competitively danced and recently enjoyed yoga and painting. Jeff, known as Uncle Chip to his friends and family, was always up for an adventure with them. He might take them for a hike, mini golfing, movies or just for ice cream at the river. Uncle Chip always found the coolest toys for his nieces and nephews- actual and those adopted through friendship. Whether it be a new book series, robot, drone or light up cars he always added a little magic to their lives.
Jeff is survived by his sister Christine (William) Battey, her children, Kevin, Karyn (Richard) Clegg. Rich and Josh Clegg, great nephews.
Sister, Terry (William) Schmidt, her children Richard (Sarah), Kaitlyn and Caroline (fiancé Matt Larouche).
As well as longtime friends Glenn Brewer (Barbara) and Glenn Pantel (Lisa) with their children.
At the request of the family, all funeral arrangements are private and under the direction of the Cochran Funeral Home, Hackettstown, NJ.
