Jeffrey “Jeff” Lynn Day, born August 27, 1955, entered into the presence of the Lord on August 30, surrounded by his loving family of friends.
Born with a brilliant mind and a generous spirit, Jeff’s life was marked by excellence, integrity, and unwavering service to others. A 1977 magna cum laude graduate of Carson-Newman College, he went on to earn his master’s degree with high honors from the University of Alabama. He quickly became one of the most reputable and respected CPAs and wealth management advisors in Knox County, building a legacy of professionalism grounded in both wisdom and compassion.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jeff was best known for his deep generosity and his passion for mentoring others. He poured into the lives of hundreds of young men and women, offering guidance in life skills, athletics, financial stewardship, and faith. He sponsored numerous athletic programs at Carson-Newman, often hosting athletes for meals and fellowship in his home, where they experienced not only his hospitality but also his heart for discipleship.
Jeff devoted thousands of hours teaching, tutoring, and sharing his expertise with groups and individuals—often at no cost—simply to help others succeed. He volunteered tirelessly in churches and community organizations, supported children in state custody and foster care, and always seemed to see the best in people. He carried a unique gift of calling out potential in others and pointing them toward a life that honored the Lord.
Those who knew Jeff will remember not only his skill and wisdom, but his humility, kindness, and the way he lived to serve. He was a man of surprising talents, countless stories, and an unshakable faith.
Jeff was preceded in death by his mother Irene Day Bailey, father Fred Day, stepfather Lonnie Bailey, and brother John Day.
He is survived by two cousins and their families: Robert Day and Susan Day Caldwell, as well as two families who became like his own: the Carlson family—Justin and Betsie, with their children Benjamin, Annalise, and Amos—and the Stinson family—Derrick and Megan, with their children Daniel, Ethan, and Johnathan Zamora.
Along with them, Jeff leaves behind a long list of cherished friends whom he faithfully poured into with his time, wisdom, and encouragement.
A service to honor and celebrate Jeff’s life will be held at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Powell, TN at 11 o'clock in the morning, Saturday, September 13, 2025.
Services will be provided by Farrar Funeral Home, Dandridge, TN.
