Jeffrey Dell Deaver, 61, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away July 19, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Jeff was born to parents William Jiggs Deaver and Peggy Sue Cassidy on March 21, 1963. He was one of three children. Jeff graduated from McEachern High School in 1981. Jiggs, Jeff’s Dad, started a business called Deaver Scrap Metal in 1968. Jeff took over his daddy’s business in the 1980’s. He was one of the hardest workers we knew. Jeff was dedicated to his job and worked hard to keep the business going.
When he wasn’t working, Jeff loved the beach, the mountains, loved camping at the lake, and he thought the snow was just wonderful. Jeff also loved drag-racing with his crew at Doom Motorsports, with his beloved red Corvette that he called “Rolling ATM”. He loved cheering on the UGA Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves. The biggest piece of his heart belonged to his grandbabies.
Jeff married Nancy Houston in 2014, and he gained a bonus family. He became a step-father and Papa. His family was the most important thing in his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Mike Deaver.
Jeff is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Deaver; his 4 step-children: Bryan (Meagan) Huff, Matthew (Sara) Huff, Victoria Houston, and Christian Houston; 6 grandbabies; 2 godsons; one sister, Donna (Danny) Evans; several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
