Jeffrey "Scott" Dickerson, 51, of Pittsboro, North Carolina suddenly passed away at home on Saturday, November 30, 2024. He was born on December 7, 1972 to his late father, Roy Dickerson and his mother, Susie Woods Dickerson.
Mr. Dickerson worked as a Senior Plant Operator at AirGas Specialty Gases where he was a hardworking and dedicated employee for over 32 years. Over the years he made many wonderful friends and was a true leader among his associates.
Scott was of Baptist faith and a lover of nature and animals. He used to enjoy watching NASCAR and loved listening to country music. Scott was very meticulous in taking care of his yard and enjoyed being outdoors. He thoroughly enjoyed his “Bull Dog” hot dogs from the Dog House, local to Durham. Along with things he admired was his love and passion for the beaches of North Carolina where he enjoyed his vacations and relaxation. He will be remembered as a loving grandfather, father, son, brother, uncle and great friend who was not only loyal but hilarious. Scott will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Mr. Dickerson is survived by his mother, Susie Dickerson; life partner & soulmate, Vickie Burns; son Dylan Dickerson (Samantha); step-son, Tucker Burns; brother, Chris Dickerson, Sr. (Kyla); grandson, Lane Roy Dickerson; dog sons, Rosco and Greg and numerous loving nieces, nephews and other family members.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 5, 2024 at Hudson Funeral Home, 211 S. Miami Blvd., Durham, NC 27703.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, December 6, 2024 at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Tim McCreight will officiate. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Durham, NC.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Logan Woods, Ashley Woods, Brent Woods, Kevin Dickerson, Frankie Wilson, Billy Dickerson and Rodney Jones. Honorary Pallbearers will be Woodrow Dickerson, Lane Dickerson and Earl Woods.
