Jeffrey W. Germann, 69, of Woodlawn, Illinois, passed away at 3:15 pm September 26, 2022 at his residence. He was born January 31, 1953 in Mount Vernon, Illinois to Jacob Germann and Mary (Ray) Davis.
Jeff is survived by his mother, Mary (Ray) Davis of Mount Vernon; daughter, Michelle Witzel and husband, Brian of Mount Vernon; son, Jacob Germann and wife, Rachel of Edwardsville, Illinois; grandchildren, Pacey Reynolds and fiancée, Savannah Estes, Parker Reynolds, Eli Germann, and Max Germann; siblings, John Germann of Marion, Illinois, Jim Germann of Woodlawn, Genell Sloan of Ohio, and Jennifer Neilson of Iuka, Illinois.
Jeffrey was preceded in death by his father, Jacob Germann.
In 1988, Jeff won the Illinois State Fair Auctioneer Championship. He enjoyed being an auctioneer and operating Germann Auctioneering. Jeff worked as a coal miner for Inland Steel and was also a cattle salesman. He later worked as a truck driver for Beelman Trucking, where he retired. Jeff took great pride in growing up on the family farm in rural Woodlawn. He was an avid outdoorsman, a loving father, and a cherished grandfather. Jeff will be deeply missed.
A Visitation will be held Friday, September 30, 2022 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. A Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 pm with Mr. Dan Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn. Memorials may be made in Jeffrey's honor to the Woodlawn High School FFA.
