Jeffrey Goins Sr.

Jeffrey Lee Goins Sr., peacefully passed Tuesday, October 4, 2022, in the comfort of his home in Gladwin, MI. After a 4 year battle with cancer, he may now rest peacefully and pain free.
Jeffrey was born August 10, 1950, in Letcher County, KY, to the late Howard and Pearl Goins, spending most of his youth in Detroit, MI, attending Chadsey Highschool. Jeffrey was one of 8 children. As a child he loved to play baseball and to steal fruit from the neighbors nectarine trees. In his early teens, Jeffrey knew he wanted to enlist in the Army, after highschool, he did just that. Serving time as a Spec 5 Sergeant, he honorably served his country overseas in Korea. Once coming home, he married his wife of 52 years, Gloria Goins(Sharpe), started his family and began his journey as an Engineer, working in machine shops. As a Prototype Engineer, he opened Aphase ii, in the early 80's. After 30 years, he retired as an engineer and started traveling with Gloria, working for KOA, Kampgrounds of America, managing campgrounds throughout the country and being named Managers of the Year, during their first year.
Jeffrey leaves behind his loving wife, Gloria J. Goins, four children, Rachel Plaga(Steve Plaga), Jeffrey Goins II(Melissa Goins), the late Jessica Goins, and Amanda Goins, the favorite. Jeffrey was a loving PawPaw to nine grand children, Jeffrey Brown, Jessica Brown, Jamie Brown, Jenna Nagy(Patrick), Jeffrey Goins III(Shelby), Koby Goins, Charlee Goins, Logan Denny, Marissa Denny and 8 great grandchildren, Khloe Belle, Nyomi, Roman, Drew Drew, Bentlee, Emma Lily, Jayden and Ellee. Jeffrey worked hard every day of his life to instill knowledge, creativity and a hard work ethic into each and every person he encountered.
Jeffrey has requested no services to be held. The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life to honor Jeffreys life and accomplishments on a future date.
