Jeffrey David "Paemapameh" Grignon, age 59, of Keshena, passed away on Monday August 12, 2024, at his home. Jeff was born on November 27, 1964, in Shawano to the late Mary Louise Grignon. He graduated from Shawano High School and was an all-star in cross country, basketball and baseball. Jeff was a traditional knowledge keeper for the Menominee People. He taught nationwide about the importance of our connection to our traditional lands. Jeff was a proud wildland firefighter and Cultural Preservation Officer for Historic Preservation. On July 2, 1994, Jeff was united in marriage to Delores "Dory" Tourtillott in Keshena. In his free time, he enjoyed playing guitar, listening to music, doing card tricks, spending time with his family and his dogs, Daisy and Wimaeqwan.
Jeff is survived by his wife of 30 years, Dory; children, Desirae (Mike Mahl) Grignon, Stevie Grignon, Evelynn (Jay Johnson) Grignon and Jacob (Leslie Lemerond) Grignon; six grandchildren, Justin, Rebel, Onyx, Wylie, Shelton and Silas; sister, Pam Grignon; aunts and uncles, Myrna Winter, Dennis (Linda ) Grignon and David (Donna) Grignon. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Jeff is preceded in death by his dog, Gus; mother, Mary; and several uncles and aunts.
A memorial gathering for Jeff will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday August 17, 2024, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:30 am until the time of service. Inurnment will be held at the Menominee Nation Cemetery.
