Jeffrey Brendan Haidinger (Jeff), 69, of Alexandria, Virginia died peacefully on September 26, 2025, after enduring health issues for an extended period of time.

Jeff was married to Sandra Kirkland Haidinger for 33 years and is survived by his two children, Carlin Kirkland Haidinger and Alec Jeffrey Haidinger (wife Kristen) of Falls Church, Virginia. He is also survived by his two sisters, Nina Haidinger Ciak (husband Gary) and Faith Kelly Haidinger of Palm Harbor, Florida, and brother, William Brendan Haidinger Jr. (wife Linda) of Endicott, New York.

Jeff was born on August 23, 1956, in Endicott, New York, the son of Faith Goedecke Haidinger and William Brendan Haidinger. Jeff grew up in Endicott, New York and attended Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, North Carolina joining their men's basketball team for one year, before he transferred and then graduated from St. Lawrence University in 1978. He later completed the Executive Management Program from The Wharton School. Jeff enjoyed playing basketball and golf throughout his life, becoming a member at Hidden Creek and Belle Haven Country Clubs in Northern Virginia and Duck Woods Country Club in Duck, North Carolina. He also had passion for discovering hidden gems around the world and savoring the beauty each place had to offer. Jeff loved spending quality time with his wife, Sandy, and children, Carlin and Alec, especially at the Outer Banks in North Carolina and on Upper Saranac Lake in New York.

Jeff actively worked in the telecommunications industry for over 35 years starting at New Jersey Bell in Newark, New Jersey. After relocating from New Jersey to Washington DC, Jeff grew his long career at Bell Atlantic, Verizon, Nortel Networks, Ciena and then retired from Global Tel*Link after 12 years as President and Chief Operating Officer in 2018. Throughout his life, Jeff was known not just for what he accomplished, but for how he carried himself. He approached every task with quiet determination, unwavering integrity, and a deep sense of responsibility. Above all, he valued people. His work was never just about the job-it was about the relationships, the shared purpose, and the belief that every person deserved respect and dignity. That legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched.

Jeff's children would like to express thanks to all his friends and family for supporting and loving him during his lifetime. Jeff had a great sense of humor, gracious heart, and one-of-a-kind personality. It brings peace that he is reunited with the love of his life, and their mother, Sandy.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to either of two organizations that were close to Jeff's heart: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital: www.stjude.org/donate or Eagle Island Camp in Saranac Lake, NY: www.eagleisland.org/donate

A Vigil will be held at 6716 Westlawn Drive, Falls Church VA on Friday, October 17th and Funeral will be at 11am on October 18, 2025 at Notre Dame Chapel in Washington, DC with a reception to follow back in Falls Church.
