Obituary for Jeffrey Hanson
Jeffrey Paul Hanson, 63, of Louisville, CO, passed away on Sunday April 16th, 2023.
Jeff was born on September 15th, 1959 to Roger and Lois Hanson in Oshkosh, WI. The family moved to Santa Barbara, CA in 1972. Jeff spent the majority of his life in the Santa Barbara area until moving to the Louisville, CO area in 2019 to be closer to his sister and her husband.
Jeff worked in various fields throughout his life. His favorite position was working for the Forest Service for the state of CA. He was retired at the time of his passing.
Jeff was fortunate to meet his true love Betty. Betty was a bright light in Jeff's life; they were married for several years and lived happily together in Goleta, CA until Betty passed away.
Jeff had a huge heart and never missed the opportunity to smile and say hi to a passing child or pat the head of any and all pets that crossed his path! Jeff also had a big personality and was up for any adventure that came his way. If it was big and fast Jeff was there for all of it – Cars, Trucks and Rockets. Some of Jeff's favorite experiences included hot air balloon rides, travel especially via cruise ships, and Colorado Rockies Baseball. When Jeff wasn't out chasing adventures, he worked meticulously with his sister on some of the most intricate Lego models available. He was a Master Builder in our eyes and he and Sara completed more than 50 of these special masterpieces.
Jeff is predeceased by his parents (Roger and Lois) and his wife (Betty). He is survived by his sister and her husband (Sara and Eldyn); and his nieces (Kelsey and Emily);
What we ask in memory of Jeff is quite simple – If you see or meet someone who might seem different than yourself, give that person a warm smile, give that person a hug, and give that person the respect and dignity that you would want given to you and your loved ones.
We want to thank all those who supported Jeff, including his medical contacts and their staffs, Dr. Meredith, Dr. Otrak, and Dr. Chavdra. We also want to thank the special people at Elevated Supports and Imagine! Colorado, for everything they have done to provide Jeff with unique experiences, personal contact, life skills development and the opportunity to create relationships with a wonderful friend group.
Services for Jeff will be on Saturday, May 13th at 11:00 AM with a reception to follow at Rundus Funeral Home, 1998 W. 10th Ave Broomfield, Co 80020
