Jeffrey "Moonshine" Harrell, born on August 2, 1965, in Scott County, Mississippi, passed away on February 8, 2026, at UMMC Jackson, MS. He lived a life dedicated to hard work, family, and community service.
A proud graduate of Forest High School, class of 1983, Jeffrey pursued a career as a self-employed truck driver, demonstrating his strong work ethic and commitment to providing for his family. His dedication extended beyond his profession, as he served honorably in the U.S. Air Force, embodying the values of discipline and service to his country.
Jeffrey was not only known for his professional achievements but also for his love of the outdoors. He excelled in football and had a passion for fishing and 4-wheel riding, which allowed him to cherish the beauty of nature and spend quality time with friends and loved ones. His engagement in the community also saw him as a full-time fireman with the Forest Fire Department and a part-time member of the Scott County Sheriff Department, where he served with pride and determination.
He leaves behind a legacy through his surviving family members, including his son, Jeffrey Donn Harrell II (Lacy), and daughter, Megan Harrell. His brother, Jamie Harrell (Teresa), who is married to Teresa, also mourns the loss of a beloved brother. He is the cherished grandfather of Callon Weathers. Additionally, Andrea Harrell, the mother of his children, continues to honor Jeffrey's memory.
Jeffrey was preceded in death by his father, John Donald Harrell, and his mother, Patsy Ann Fletcher. Their influence on his life shaped the person he became, and their memories will be carried forward by those he leaves behind.
Visitation for Jeffrey Donn Harrell Sr. will be held on February 13, 2026, from 5:30 PM to 6:45 PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Lake, Mississippi. A funeral service will follow beginning at 7:00 PM. As family and friends gather to remember and celebrate his life, they will find solace in the memories shared and the impact he made on all who knew him. Jeffrey "Moonshine" Harrell will be deeply missed, but his spirit and legacy will forever remain alive in the hearts of his loved ones.
