Jeff Hoffman, age 62, died on August 30, 2024, after a battle with chemical dependency that had challenged him for four decades. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 3:00-5:00 PM on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at Williams Dingmann Funeral Home in Princeton, MN. A family graveside service will be held separately.
Jeffrey Lynn Hoffman, the son of Louis and Jean (Carruth) Hoffman, was born June 14, 1962, in Princeton. He enjoyed sports and recreation and had a lifelong passion for swimming; he carried a love for water throughout his life, often finding solace and joy in its depths. He played football for Princeton High School, graduating in 1980. Jeff attended the University of Minnesota at Duluth and graduated from St. Cloud State with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting in 1984. Encouraged by his employer at People's State Bank, he joined the Masons in Princeton. He worked in several accounting positions in the area including businesses and school districts. Jeff's passion for hunting and fishing and being at the family cabin in northern Minnesota led him to relocate there, where he worked at Deep Portage Learning Center. An avid collector of antiques and memorabilia, he became a Crow Wing and Cass County history buff.
Jeff is survived by his three brothers, John (Brenda) of Stillwater, Tom (Krista) of Baxter, and Bill (Rebecca Broome) of Amery, WI; along with nephews, Matt (Lori) Bohan of Seattle, WA, Bob Hoffman of Chicago, IL, Jake (Diana) Hoffman of Hugo, Quinn Hoffman of Brainerd, Isaac (Liz) Hoffman of Maplewood, Logan (Erin) of Sterling, CO; nieces, Sarah (Karl) Buelow of Seattle, WA, Thea (Kevin) Mazurowski of Phoenix, AZ, and Madeline (Joe) Lindsey of St. Paul; as well as several great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents; and his sister, Amy Hoffman.
