Went Home to be with God and his daughter Courtney on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at the age of 71.
Loving husband of Mary Beth (nee Hablewitz) for 48 years. Dear father of Christopher (Stacy), the late Courtney, Irina and Tatiana. "Grampa" of Melanie, Joshua and Jeanette. Close friend Matt Martin. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He will be missed by his loving dogs Scrappy and Snowe.
Jeffrey valued his family. He was always the one that made sure we got together as a family every holiday, often being flexible on the date so all the kids could make it. He also made sure to call every week to check in; the phone calls were never short, but the conversations will be treasured. He often chatted about Wisconsin sports teams. He enjoyed his Western movies and TV-shows, often finding shows that most people have never heard of. He will also be remembered for his excitement over discount day shopping, known to the rest of us as the day after Valentines Day, when items were at least half off.
Jeffrey cherished the time he spent with the grandkids. He enjoyed picking up his granddaughter from school, often with the dogs riding along. No matter if it was a game of Snakes and Ladders, watching a school concert, hanging out watching TV or helping put together Legos, Jeffrey was there for his grandkids.
His grandkids will remember their time with Grampa where they just sat and talked. They loved to hear the stories he would tell about his life. He would always make the kids giggle at his funky stories. Often he would talk about some random thing or share stories of his years as a Milwaukee County bus driver. He would always have this smile on his face no matter how bad he felt. His stories and warm smiles will not be forgotten by his grandkids and those that knew him.
Jeffrey loved to wear the weirdest shirts, or at least they seemed weird to his grandkids; during a visit to Mount Rushmore, he asked that the grandkids bring him a shirt with the presidents' butts. One of his favorites was the "brown dog shirt" that he always wore when he came to visit. Something he talked about a lot was his dogs. He loved those dogs like they were his kids. Culver's was a favorite stop for both Jeffrey and the dogs; he would tell us how when he went to Culver's he would give the dogs half of his burger.
Those who knew Jeffrey will remember him for his kind heart, his positive attitude, his faith in Jesus and his love for his family.
Visitation will be held at the Bruskiewitz Funeral Home on Saturday, June 7th, 2025 at 10 AM, followed by a Funeral Service at 12 Noon. Entombment will take place on Monday, June 9th, 2025 at 10 AM at Forest Home Cemetery, 2405 W. Forest Home Ave., Milwaukee. (Please meet at the cemetery).
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 6881 S. 51st. St., Franklin, WI 53132 or Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 3722 S. 58th St., Milwaukee, WI 53220 are appreciated.
