Jeffrey Leon Johnson, 62, of Arlington, Texas, was born on December 26, 1962, in Washington, D.C., to the late James Sydney and Brenda (Williams) Johnson. He passed on January 26, 2025.
Jeffrey graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School and went on to become a skilled professional painter at Newell Decorating Co. His dedication to his craft was unmatched, and through years of hard work and meticulous attention to detail, he perfected his trade. His career led him to work at the University of Texas at Arlington and UT Southwestern Medical Center, where he was appreciated for both his work ethic and his joyful spirit.
A beloved jokester, Jeffrey was known for his light-hearted nature, always bringing smiles to those around him. He lived with an infectious energy and maintained a sense of fun and enthusiasm that touched everyone he met. Jeffrey never took life too seriously and was a constant source of laughter and warmth to his friends and family. In addition to his work, Jeffrey had a deep love for travel and adventure, always eager to explore new places and experiences.
Jeff had a great fondness for children and animals alike. Though he did not have children of his own, he and Ina are known as second parents to many which they helped raise as their own. In his quiet moments, he enjoyed listening to music and watching action movies and cartoons — activities that brought him peace and comfort.
Jeffrey’s passing leaves a void in the lives of all who knew him, but his vibrant spirit and loving heart will be remembered forever. He is survived by his wife, Ina, 5 siblings, family and friends, and all those whose lives he touched with his laughter and kindness.
A memorial service to celebrate Jeffrey’s life will be held on February 8, 2025, 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Wade Funeral Home & Crematory, 4140 West Pioneer Parkway, Arlington, Texas 76013. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a charity in Jeffrey’s name. Rest in peace, Jeffrey. You will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
