Jeffrey Maniex Obituary
Jeffrey Rehmus Maniex, age 69, of Clawson, Michigan, passed away on December 11, 2025. He was born on March 21, 1956, in Royal Oak to Clarence and Nelda (Rehmus) Maniex, who preceded him in death.
Jeff was honest, good-natured, and deeply kind. He always tried to find a connection with someone he met; something shared, a story, a laugh. He rarely, if ever, got angry and was known among family and friends as a steady presence, a special and strong person, and often "the preacher" of his friends-the voice of reason when it was most needed.
He met the love of his life, Alison, during their freshman year of college, and they shared 51 wonderful years together, including 41 years of marriage. Jeff was a devoted husband, and a proud and loving father. His family was truly his pride and joy, and taking care of them was always his top priority.
Jeff was endlessly curious and educated in a multitude of topics. He loved to learn and never hesitated to share his knowledge or lend a helping hand to anyone in need whether it was an oil change or stargazing, Jeff knew something about it.
A lifelong sports fan, Jeff passionately cheered on all the Michigan teams-especially the Red Wings and the Lions. He loved the outdoors and was a man for all seasons: snowmobiling in the winter, fishing and golf in the spring and summer with hunting in the fall. His diverse interests also included music which was another great joy in his life and he delighted in going to concerts, big or small, and other cultural experiences, and sharing those experiences with those he loved. He particularly loved spending time at his cottage on Houghton Lake and making memories with his family.
Beloved and adored husband of Alison. Loving father of Emily and Nicholas. Brother of Douglas (Catherine) Maniex, sister Marcia (Alex) Mckinnon, the late Brian (Janet) Maniex, and brother-in-law of Brian (Ellen) Conn of Texas. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Jeffrey was dearly loved, and his absence will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Memorial visitation will be held on Friday, December 19, from 11AM–2PM at A.J. Desmond & Sons, 2600 Crooks Rd. Troy (248) 362-2500, with interment following at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy.
The family encourages everyone who attends to dress casually and comfortably-come as you are, just as Jeff would have wanted.
"May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again. May God hold you in the palm of his hand." (Irish Blessing)
