Jeffrey Marc Matuzak, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, coach, and friend passed away peacefully at the age of 69 years on Wednesday, January 3, 2024.
Jeffrey was born in Saginaw, MI on March 17, 1954 to Thelma Bass and Vincent Matuzak. He was one of six children growing up and has remained very close to all of his siblings. Jeffrey graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1972, where he met his beloved wife Karla (Clothier) Matuzak. They have been happily married for 48 years and raised four children together. Jeffrey retired from Dow Chemical after working there as a lab technician for 30 years.
Jeffrey was a lifelong fan of sports whether it was playing or coaching. He was most proud of his experience coaching all four of his children in baseball, softball, football, and basketball at St. Helen Catholic School, Tri City Nets, and Nouvel Catholic Central. He touched countless lives through his ability to connect with youth through sports. Jeffrey also was a master craftsman, avid golfer, painter, and expressed his creativity by making treasured keepsakes for his friends and family. Jeffrey will be most remembered for being an exceptional grandfather and his incredible ability to make people laugh and smile.
He is survived by his loving wife Karla Matuzak; four children Amanda Matuzak, Brad Matuzak, Ashley (Tyler) Wellman, and Andrew (Tiffany) Matuzak; four grandchildren Vincent Matuzak and Jack, Franklin, and Thomas Wellman; his siblings Ruth Dunn, Pat (Paula) Matuzak, Michael Matuzak, and Lisa (Bo) White; his cherished in-laws Ann (Bob) Kuhn, Mary (Tom) Kunitzer; and his many cherished cousins, nieces, and nephews.
