Jeffrey Alan McGuire, known to most as Jeff, was born July 8, 1949, in Denver, Indiana, and passed away on November 11, 2025. He was a steady, kind man with a genuine sense of adventure, a lifelong curiosity, and a mind that could figure just about anything out. Most would describe him as buttoned-up-disciplined, methodical, and clear in his expectations-balanced with a sharp, witty sense of humor. Those traits shaped his home life as well, instilling in his kids the importance of hard work, responsibility, and a healthy competitive spirit.

Jeff graduated from Purdue University and remained a committed Boilermaker through every season, especially basketball, which he preferred to enjoy from the comfort of his favorite recliner. It meant a great deal that he was able to see Purdue make it to the Final Four one more time before his passing.

His love of sports extended far beyond Purdue. He enjoyed talking about and watching college basketball, college football, golf, and NASCAR. He also had a deep appreciation for classic muscle cars and spent many weekends at car shows, studying the details that made each one unique. When it came to home projects, Jeff never considered hiring help; he had the determination, the mind, and-after one or two trips to Lowe's or Home Depot-the tools. The same went for the kids' science fair and school projects when they were younger.

Deeply dedicated to his career, Jeff spent much of it in marketing roles at DuPont, rising through the company in several cities before calling Charlotte home. Most recently, he worked as a wealth advisor with Capitol Financial Solutions, where colleagues valued not only his knowledge, but also his personable check-ins, sense of humor and easy smile.

He is survived by his four children-Brett (Katie) McGuire, Trisha McGuire (Brant) Smith, Barrett McGuire and Quinn McGuire-and three grandchildren: Cole, Brooks and Reese McGuire. He also leaves behind his siblings Karen (Bob) Kindig, Linda (Steve) White, Dan McGuire and Ed (Patricia) McGuire. He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Beverly McGuire, and his parents, Lyman and Rachel McGuire.

A graveside service, open to the public, will be held on Tuesday, November 18, at 1 p.m. at Forest Lawn East Cemetery. Guests should gather at the Williams House, which is located at the front of the cemetery park across the street from Heritage Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, his kids suggest a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project, a charity that Jeff supported through the years.
