Jeffrey Morris Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Walnut Lawn Funeral Home - Springfield on Sep. 5, 2024.
Jeffrey Scott Morris, age 61, of Springfield, MO died Friday, August 30. He was born March 4, 1963 in Little Rock, Arkansas and grew up in Camdenton, Missouri. Jeff graduated from Camdenton High School in 1981. Then earned his degree at UMKC. Jeff's lifelong career was in the construction industry, most recently very proudly working for Morelock Builders in Springfield, Missouri. Jeff was a straight-shooting,"tell it like it is," colorful character. He was confident, intelligent, and picky about those he gave his time to. Jeff could fix anything, was afraid of nothing, and was confident in all he did. He was an expert at grilling, smoking, and making some of the best BBQ you'd ever eat. He was an avid reader and owned just about any tool that exists. He was proud of his kids and their achievements, and he loved watching them start their own families. His partner in crime and true love Martina was always by his side. Together, they enjoyed experimenting with new food creations and sharing them with friends and family. Jeff loved spending time at their house on Table Rock Lake, boating, fishing, and gathering with his friends to watch sunsets. Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Morgan and Lottie Morris and his brother, Keith Morris. He is survived by his wife, Martina; his four children: Ashley (Justin), Jacob (Valerie), Maggie (Moly), and Abram (Caroline); four grandchildren: Weston, Emery, Nora, and Josephine; his sisters, Beverly, Jeannie, and Robin; and his nieces and nephews. Jeff was loved and will be missed by his family and his many friends. The family is hosting a visitation at Walnut Lawn Funeral Home (2001 W. Walnut Lawn Street, Springfield, MO) on Thursday, September 12 from 5:30-7:00, where people will be encouraged to share memories of their favorite Jeff shenanigans.
