Jeffrey Norris Obituary
January 9, 1955 - February 6, 2025
Jeffrey Norris, 70, of Plainfield, Ill., formerly of Bloomington Ill., died Thursday, February 6, 2025, at the Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka.
Jeff was born on January 9, 1955, in Peoria to Richard L. "Dick" Esther Rose Schmidgall Norris.
Survivors include two sisters, Kay Liebenow of Towanda; Teresa Norris of Goodfield; one aunt, Marian Fritch of Mackinaw; one nephew, John (Ashley) Rapp of Deer Park, Ill. He was the great-uncle of Sawyer, Hattie and Tate Rapp. He was preceded in death by his parents,
Jeff graduated from Eureka High School in 1973 and attended Illinois Wesleyan for four years where he was a member of Phi Mu Fraternity. He attended S.M.C. Grad School for two years.
He taught at I.W.U. Piano Prep Dept. for almost 10 years. He then moved to the Chicago area and taught for many years at Merit in downtown Chicago. He was a Music Teacher for over 45 years. Jeff was also the Church Organist and Music Director for over 25 years at Euclid Methodist Church in Oak Park, Ill.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, February 10, 2025 at Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home, Eureka and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 11 a.m. at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Olio Township Cemetery in Eureka.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff at the AC home for the wonderful love and care he received there. Memorial contributions may be made to the Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka. Condolences may be sent to the family at argoruestmanharris.com
