Jeffrey Alan Ortiz, 51, of Oak Hill, West Virginia, passed away, Saturday, July 27, 2024, in Oak Hill, West Virginia. Jeff was born on September 22, 1972, in Dearborn, Michigan to parents Franklin J. Ortiz and Nancy Ortiz (Hancock).
Jeff was a veteran of the United States Air Force with the Rank of MSgt, from which he retired after 24 years, serving our country from September of 1990 until September of 2014.
Jeff loved watching NASCAR and holding a fishing pole.
Preceding him in death by his paternal grandparents, Robert and Mary (Kozma) Ortiz; maternal grandparents, John and Brenda (Grayley) Hancock; a step-grandmother, Margaret Hancock; father, Franklin J. Ortiz Sr.; a son, Jamie McCune; and father-in-law, James R. Burbaker (Scooter).
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Lora Beth Ortiz; mother, Nancy Ortiz; mother-in-law, Violet Burbaker; siblings, Franklin J. Ortiz Jr., John R. Ortiz and Jennifer, Brenda (Binky) Ortiz, and Tina; his children, Stephanie Ortiz and Sterling Ortiz; and countless other family members.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at High Lawn Memorial Park with Pastor Bill Gillman officiating. Interment will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park.
Friends may call on the family from 12 PM until time of service on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at High Lawn Funeral Home in Oak Hill.
Pallbearers will be Franklin J. Ortiz Jr., John Ortiz, Adam Jones, Joe Richmond, Shane Shockey, Dennis Jones, and Sterling Ortiz. Honorary Pallbearers, Timmy Ortiz, Chase Minor, and Raymond Ortiz Sr.
In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to High Lawn Funeral Home in C/O Michael Phares for Lora Beth Ortiz.
