Jeffrey Scott Pettijohn, 63, of Spring Hill, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2025. He was born on September 18, 1961 in St. Joseph, Missouri. At the age of 6, he was adopted by Gary and Ethel (Round) Pettijohn.
When Jeff was younger he was a Cub Scout, Boy Scout, and later an Eagle Scout that he completed in 1979. He was a member of First Baptist Church and part of the youth group.
He went to Olathe High School until his family moved to Pratt, Kansas. He graduated from Pratt High School in 1980. After high school, he attended Pratt Community College.
On February 6, 1982 he married Chris (Hodges) Riddle later divorced.
In May of 1983, he welcomed his daughter, Leslie. From that moment he put his whole heart into raising her into the woman she is today.
Jeff was employed for the State of Kansas. He was a dispatcher for the Kansas Highway Patrol. In 1999, he went to the Department of Revenue as a Drivers License Examiner, later becoming a Supervisor. He retired in September 2024 after 27.5 years of service.
He was a proud Papa to 4 grandchildren that he loved endlessly and adored.
Jeff had a love for nature and all of its beauty. He enjoyed fishing trips with his dad and watching the sunrise on the beach of South Padre Island.
Jeff was an amazing son, father and Papa and will truly be missed.
Jeff is survived by his daughter, Leslie (Pettijohn) Grace, parents, Gary and Ethel Pettijohn, grandchildren, Alyson, Cassie, Abel and Brelie, uncles, aunt, cousins, and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Vicki Pettijohn Bohl, grandparents Harriett Hall Pettijohn, Rolla Pettijohn, Harry and Hazel Reece Round.
Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 10:00 am at Life Mission Church, 16111 S Lone Elm Rd, Olathe, KS 66062.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions in Jeff's memory be made to the American Cancer Society or Noyes Home for Children in St. Joseph, Missouri.
