Gary Lee Winsor of Olathe, KS passed away Monday August 25,2025 at Sunrise Of Overland Park. Gary was born May 31, 1940 in Newton, KS the son of John and Marian (Sauerwein) Winsor. He married Annetta Sue (Rust) Winsor April 25, 1969 who survives the home.
He was an active member of the First Christian Church of Olathe and the VFW Post. He started his retail management career at JcPenney's at the Blue Ridge Mall in 1968 where he met the love of his life. He managed several stores in Missouri till 1986 when he started working for Dillards in Overland Park. He retired after 20 years and then continued to work at Hyroop’s Big and Tall for another 5 years. He enjoyed traveling, taking pictures, cheering on the Royals, Chiefs, and of course his Jayhawks. Most of all he loved his family and his greatest joy were his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and younger brother Brad Winsor. In addition to his wife he is survived by his son Mark Winsor of Olathe, KS his daughter Amanda Handley and son-in-law Dylan Handley of Barada, NE. Grandchildren: Ian Winsor and Kelly Ann Handley along with sisters and brother-in-law's, a niece and nephews, and a great niece and nephews.
