Jeffrey Phillips, lovingly known to many as Jeff, Calvin, and Speedy, was born on June 11, 1970, in Henderson, Kentucky. While still very young, he moved to Ohio with his mother, Patricia. He was raised by his mother, Patricia Sahr, and stepfather, Timothy Sahr, in a blended family, where he was the oldest of four children, including Marc Sahr, Michelle Fuss, and Tiffany Sahr. Ohio became the place where Jeff grew up, formed lifelong friendships, and built a life full of creativity, music, and meaningful connections.
Jeff was deeply artistic, with creativity at the heart of his life. A talented drummer, he was a member of several bands, including Rustic Bucket and Sefectly Pober. He wrote many songs and drew countless cartoons, using his music and art as powerful forms of self-expression and joy.
Known as the life of the party, Jeff had a larger-than-life personality and an infectious energy. Always down for a good time, he had a gift for bringing people together. He loved his animals deeply, and his compassion extended to everyone around him. To Jeff, friends were more than friends; they were family.
He was a caring and devoted brother, son, and friend, loyal to those he loved and generous with his heart. Jeff passed away on January 6, 2026, with his family at his side. He leaves a profound void in the lives of all who knew him and is now reunited with his mother, who recently passed. Jeff will be deeply missed by his family and forever loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though the music has quieted, Jeff’s rhythm lives on in our hearts.
