Jeffrey Paul Reisman, age 80, of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on July 5, 2025. Born on March 2, 1945, in the Bronx, New York, Jeff lived a full and meaningful life defined by dedication to family, a love of music, a love for animals, and a strong work ethic.
Jeff was the beloved husband of Mary Reisman, with whom he shared over 60 years of love with. Their deep bond was a testament to a lifetime of love, friendship, and mutual support. Together, they built a life filled with cherished memories and a family that meant the world to them.
He is survived by his loving wife Mary; daughters, Lori Frankford and Keri Reisman; son-in-law, Jeff Frankford; grandchildren Justin Frankford, Nicholas Countryman, and Carlee Frankford; sister Marcia Reisman; and brother-in-law Fred Schneider. He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Lee Reisman, and his mother-in-law Maria Schneider.
Jeff loved the USA. He served in the U.S. Army for two years, during which he was stationed in Japan. His sense of duty and service continued through the generations, with his grandson Justin now serving as an Airman stationed in Las Vegas, Nevada.
From a young age, Jeff had a passion for music. At just 12 years old, he saved enough money to purchase his first guitar and taught himself to play. That determination and creativity led to the formation of his hometown band, the POOJs-a memory he fondly looked back on throughout his life.
Nothing brought Jeff more joy than watching his grandchildren grow. He took great pride in encouraging their interests, particularly when it came to music and the arts. Jeff’s influence lives on through Justin’s love of guitar-first introduced to him by his grandfather at the age of six-and through Nicholas, who shares Jeff’s love of music by being a drummer who travels state-wide with his own band. Jeff also took great delight in seeing his granddaughter Carlee shine through dance, often referring to her as his "little darling." Jeff loved nothing more than watching his grandchildren perform in their various activities. He never missed a show.
Professionally, Jeff spent many years as a regional supervisor with Hills Department Store before moving on to become a business owner. He was known for his professionalism, reliability, leadership, and strong sense of responsibility in the workplace.
Outside of his career and into retirement, Jeff lived a very predictable daily life. He was a committed fitness enthusiast. He never missed a day of exercise and was a regular presence at both the YMCA and with the Silver Sneakers community. He loved to go shopping and find the best bargains even if it took all day. He enjoyed his time with Mary and their beloved cat, Misty, in the evenings watching their favorite TV shows.
Jeff had a deep love for animals throughout his life, forming special bonds with many beloved pets over the years. Jeff very much believed that there is a Rainbow Bridge that exists and this is where his multitude of pets came running and greeted him.
The Reisman family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the many expressions of sympathy and support during this time. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jeff’s memory may be made to One of a Kind Pets, an organization close to the family’s heart.
Jeff’s life will be remembered for his kindness, quiet strength, generosity, and the love he gave so freely to those around him. He will be deeply missed.
The family will be celebrating Jeff’s life during a family memorial at a later date.
