Dwight J. Clark, 68, passed away suddenly on September 24, 2025. He was born in Akron Ohio to the late Walter and Erma Clark, graduating from Cuyahoga High School in 1974. Dwight served from 1974-1976 as Army Air Defense Artillery stationed in Korea. Following his active duty, he spent 1 year in the active reserves and 3 years in the National Guard. Moving to Florida in 1989 he served as a Corrections Officer, Florida State Trooper and retired from the Palm Beach Co. Sheriff’s office after 22 years of service. He was a life member of the American Legion and the VFW. Among his many accomplishments, Dwight was a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and was a certified Master Diver, teaching scuba diving from Jacksonville to the Keys.
Preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Erma Clark; sisters, Denise Kelly-Guthrie and Sandra Clark; and brother, Walter F. Clark. He is survived by his son, Joshua F. (Jennifer) Clark, grandchildren, Connor and Cooper.
He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his sister, Marcie Troxell and her son, Ted (Brandy) Troxell; brother, C. Don Clark and his children, Spencer, Madison, and Nathan (Taylor); his nieces, Tonya, Tyra and Tyffany Kelly; and many cousins and close friends.
He will be especially missed by his best friends and former wives, Debbie Yerves of Summit County and Florinda Clark and children, Michael Boyer, Jr., Virginia Elkins and Amanda Glanzberg of Ocala, FL.
Visitation will be held from 1-2:30 PM on Sunday October 12, 2025, at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls, OH44221. A Funeral service will immediately follow at 2:30. A private graveside service will be held at Northlawn Memorial Gardens.
