Publish in a newspaper

Jeffrey Alan Rischette, 73, of Tomah, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 20, 2025, in Onalaska, Wisconsin.
Jeff was born on August 18, 1952, in Tomah to John and Muriel (Giraud) Rischette. Except for a few years spent elsewhere, Jeff called Tomah home for nearly all of his life. He married the love of his life, Sue Ann (Schroeder), on May 20, 1978, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and family until her passing on December 5, 2022.
Jeff worked for many years with the Monroe County Highway Department before retiring. After the county, he worked for Wabash in New Lisbon, a job he loved and where he made lasting friendships. Never one to sit still for long, he continued to work in a variety of roles, most recently as a school bus driver for the Tomah Area School District, where he took great pride in caring for and connecting with "his kids."
Above all, Jeff loved his people fiercely. He was a devoted husband, a proud dad, and a loving "Papa" and great grandpa. His greatest joy came from time spent with his family-loving on his daughters and grandbabies, sharing stories, and making everyone laugh with his quick wit and easygoing nature.
Jeff is survived by his daughters, Erin (Adam) Draeger of Aurora, Colorado, and Melissa Rischette of Darien, Georgia; his beloved grandchildren Julia, Raven, and Anna Draeger; Laila and Hannah Yrjanson; Dante Cromartie; and Jayden Stokes; and his great-granddaughter, Avery Olson.
He is also survived by his brother Stephen (Christine) Rischette; brothers-in-law Craig (Ardith), Kirk (Karen), and Corey (Dixie) Schroeder; nieces Stephanie (Ryan) Rhead, Leigh (Luke) Korneta, Kristin (Tom) Wolff, Katie (John) Roloff, Dru Rischette, Lindsay (Tyson) Borchert, and Nicole (Cody Heath) Schroeder; as well as many aunts, cousins, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue; his parents, John and Muriel Rischette; his nephew, Brock Schroeder; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, October 27, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, 801 E. Monowau Street, in Tomah. Pastor Mark Kahrs will officiate. Family and friends are invited for a time of visitation at the funeral home from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Burial will be held at Mount Vernon Cemetery, 23001 CTH-16, in Tomah.
