Jeffrey D. Ruff, a cherished soul and dedicated truck driver, departed this world on October 28, 2024, at his home, leaving behind a legacy that celebrates both his boundless spirit and the deep connections he forged throughout his life. Born on April 16, 1963, in Dallas, Texas, Jeffrey's journey was marked by an unwavering commitment to his family and friends and a profound love for the open road.
As a skilled truck driver, he traversed the highways of this great nation, embodying the resilience and fortitude that the profession demands. His journeys were not merely routes traveled for work; they were adventures that allowed him to engage with diverse landscapes and cultures, bringing back stories and experiences that enriched his life and that of those around him. Each mile he drove contributed to his passion for life and the connections he made along the way.
Jeffrey's family was the cornerstone of his existence. He is survived by his devoted mother, Betty Jane Banks Ruff Brigman, who played an instrumental role in shaping the man he became. In addition to her, he leaves behind his siblings: Anthony Ruff, Jesse Ruff, Shane Ruff, and June Victoria "Vicki" Sexton, each of whom holds fond memories of laughter and love that will forever echo in their hearts. His affection for his family extended to his nephews, Clayton Ruff, Michael Moody, and Tyler Sexton. Likewise, the light he brought into the lives of his nieces, Jessica Ruff and Julia Ruff Best, will continue to shine brightly as they carry forward the lessons he instilled.
In the tapestry of Jeffrey's life, there were also threads of remembrance woven from those who have gone before. He now joins his father, James Alfred Ruff, Sr., his brother, James Alfred Ruff, Jr., and his stepfather, Bobby Joe Brigman, in eternal peace. Their absence, while felt deeply, serves only to enrich the memories of the love and guidance they provided throughout his formative years.
A graveside service to honor Jeffrey's life will be held at 11:00 AM on November 6, 2024, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Candler, North Carolina, providing family and friends an opportunity to gather, reminisce, and celebrate the indelible mark Jeffrey left on each of their hearts.
As we reflect upon the life of Jeffrey D. Ruff, let us remember a man who embodied kindness, strength, and a deep love for his family. Though he has departed this physical realm, his spirit will forever reside within the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the love that continues to flourish among those he cherished.
